How it works

1. Play Glacial Chasm either from your hand or from your graveyard.
2. When Glacial Chasm enters the battlefield, its second ability triggers, causing you to sacrifice another land you control.
3. Play any land from your graveyard.
4. At the beginning of your next upkeep, Glacial Chasm's cumulative upkeep ability triggers, allowing you to choose not to pay the cost and sacrifice it instead.
5. Repeat.

This clever lock relies on continuously cycling Glacial Chasm in and out of play to completely blank all incoming damage without ever paying its punishing cumulative upkeep cost. Whenever Glacial Chasm enters the battlefield, you simply sacrifice it to its own enter-the-battlefield trigger—or let it go during your upkeep—and then lean on Conduit of Worlds to effortlessly play that same land straight back out of your graveyard. Meanwhile, Aesi, Tyrant of Gyre Strait turns these repeated land drops into extra card advantage, ensuring you never run out of gas while keeping your life total entirely protected.
