How it works

1. Cast Volcano Hellion by paying 2.
2. When Volcano Hellion enters, it triggers, dealing an arbitarily large amount of damage to you and a creature. The damage that would be dealt to you is dealt to Wrathful Red Dragon instead due to Pariah's Shield.
3. Wrathful Red Dragon triggers, dealing an arbitrarily large amount of damage to an applicable target.

This fiery loop is a masterclass in redirection: you equip Pariah's Shield to Wrathful Red Dragon so that it stands ready to intercept incoming blows, protecting your life total while keeping the dragon safe in the line of fire. When you cast Volcano Hellion, its enter-the-battlefield trigger targets both you and your dragon with an arbitrarily massive wave of damage that cannot be prevented. Thanks to the shield, that massive chunk of self-inflicted damage redirects entirely onto Wrathful Red Dragon instead. This triggers the dragon's own ability, translating the enormous hit into an equally devastating blast directed straight at an opponent's face to close out the game in a single fiery eruption.
