How it works

  1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Promised Kannushi, adding CC.
  2. When Promised Kannushi dies, its soulshift ability triggers, returning itself from your graveyard to your hand.
  3. Activate Stonework Packbeast by paying 2, adding G mana.
  4. Cast Promised Kannushi by paying G mana.
  5. Repeat.

By declaring Spirit as the chosen creature type when Rukarumel, Biologist enters the battlefield, every creature card you own—including Promised Kannushi—gains the Spirit subtype everywhere, turning Promised Kannushi's Soulshift 7 into a built-in recursion engine for itself. Once Ashnod's Altar converts Promised Kannushi into the pair of colorless mana needed to fuel its casting cost, Stonework Packbeast steps in to act as a color-fixing engine, filtering that colorless mana into the exact green mana required. Because Promised Kannushi continually returns to your hand upon dying and can be replayed infinitely through this loop, you achieve an endless cascade of sacrifice, entry, and death triggers.
