How it works

  1. Activate Nyx Lotus by tapping it, adding at least six U mana.
  2. Activate Clock of Omens by tapping Grim Monolith and Grim Monolith, untapping Nyx Lotus.
  3. Activate Soliton by paying U mana, untapping it.
  4. Activate Grim Monolith's second ability by paying 4, untapping it.
  5. Repeat.
  6. Once you have infinite mana, you may use it to activate Grim Monolith's other abilities and/or untap any artifact(s) you control.

This fascinating engine transforms heavy mana production into a self-sustaining loop by turning your board state into a perpetual motion machine. It all starts with Nyx Lotus, which pumps out a massive pool of blue mana thanks to your high blue devotion, fueling Soliton's ability to untap itself and leaving plenty of surplus. Meanwhile, Clock of Omens acts as the ultimate gearwork bridge, utilizing Grim Monolith's taps to repeatedly refresh the lotus. Finally, that same Grim Monolith can pay its own heavy untap cost once you are flush with the surplus generated by the rest of the board, cementing an infinite loop of mana and untaps.
