This clever loop turns Clock of Omens into a self-sustaining engine by taking advantage of Ertha Jo, Frontier Mentor's ability to copy activated abilities that target creatures or players. Because Clock of Omens targets an artifact to untap it, we use Memnarch's first ability to turn Pheres-Band Tromper into an artifact, making it a legal target for the untap effect while also serving as one of the two tapped artifacts required to pay the Clock's cost. When you activate Clock of Omens targeting the newly minted artifact creature, Ertha Jo duplicates the ability to untap the Clock itself, creating a closed loop that simultaneously untaps both pieces. Every iteration of this untap cycle triggers Pheres-Band Tromper's inspired ability, steadily and infinitely growing the creature into a massive threat.
