How it works

1. Activate Clock of Omens by tapping it and the creature with a tap trigger, targeting the creature.
2. Ertha Jo and the creature trigger.
3. Resolve the creature's trigger.
4. Resolve the Ertha Jo trigger, copying Clock of Omens' ability, targeting Clock of Omens.
5. Resolve both Clock of Omens abilities, untapping it and the creature tapped in step 1.
6. Repeat.

This clever loop turns Clock of Omens into a self-sustaining engine by fundamentally rewriting the nature of the battlefield with Mycosynth Lattice. Because Mycosynth Lattice makes every permanent an artifact, you can tap *any* creature alongside Clock of Omens to pay its activation cost—including the Mercenary token created by Ertha Jo, Frontier Mentor. That token's tap ability is what sparks the magic: whenever you activate it, Ertha Jo, Frontier Mentor steps in to copy the ability, letting you untap Clock of Omens while keeping the loop churning indefinitely for infinite creature triggers.
