How it works
- Activate Orthion's second ability by paying 6 and tapping it, creating five token copies of Patron of the Arts with haste.
- When the Patron of the Arts tokens enter the battlefield, they trigger, creating five Treasure artifact tokens.
- Activate Thermopod's second ability five times by sacrificing the Patron of the Arts tokens, adding 2.
- When the Patron of the Arts tokens die, they trigger, creating five Treasure artifact tokens.
- Activate seven Treasures by tapping and sacrificing them, adding 7.
- Activate Orthion by paying 3 and untapping it, giving it +2/+2 until end of turn.
- Repeat.
- Once you have infinite mana, you may instead target any other creature you control.
This brilliant loop turns Orthion, Hero of Lavabrink into a one-man army by flooding the board with copies of Patron of the Arts. As those tokens enter and subsequently get sacrificed to Thermopod for mana, their dual triggers rain down a mountain of Treasure tokens. You then use that generated mana alongside Umbral Mantle to repeatedly untap Orthion, fueling an engine that produces infinite mana, infinite artifacts, and infinite haste-granting copies of any creature you desire.
