How it works
- Activate Orthion's second ability by paying 6 and tapping it, creating five token copies of Patron of the Arts with haste.
- When the Patron of the Arts tokens enter the battlefield, they trigger, creating five Treasure artifact tokens.
- Activate Phyrexian Altar five times by sacrificing the Patron of the Arts tokens, adding 2.
- When the Patron of the Arts tokens die, they trigger, creating five Treasure artifact tokens.
- Activate seven Treasures by tapping and sacrificing them, adding 7.
- Activate Sword of the Paruns by paying 3, untapping Orthion.
- Repeat.
- Once you have infinite mana, you may instead target any other creature you control.
This explosive loop is fueled by a clever interaction with Orthion, Hero of Lavabrink, whose massive second ability churns out five copies of Patron of the Arts at once. As those copies flood the battlefield and subsequently hit the graveyard, the combined arrival and demise of Patron of the Arts generates a windfall of ten Treasures, while Phyrexian Altar readily breaks down those sacrificed tokens for additional mana. Finally, Sword of the Paruns provides the critical untap engine for Orthion—funded by the generated mana and Treasures—allowing you to reset the entire cycle and endlessly replicate any creature in your ranks.
