How it works

1. Activate Chthonian Nightmare by paying EEE, sacrificing Patron of the Arts and returning Chthonian Nightmare from the battlefield to your hand.
2. When Patron of the Arts dies, it triggers, creating a Treasure token.
3. Resolve the Chthonian Nightmare ability, returning Flamecache Gecko from your graveyard to the battlefield.
4. When Flamecache Gecko enters the battlefield, it triggers, adding .
5. Activate the Treasure by tapping and sacrificing it, adding 1.
6. Cast Chthonian Nightmare by paying 1.
7. When Chthonian Nightmare enters the battlefield, it triggers, causing you to get EEE.
8. Activate Chthonian Nightmare by paying EEE, sacrificing Flamecache Gecko and returning Chthonian Nightmare from the battlefield to your hand, returning Patron of the Arts from your graveyard to the battlefield.
9. When Patron of the Arts enters the battlefield, it triggers, creating a Treasure token.
10. Activate the Treasure by tapping and sacrificing it, adding .
11. Cast Chthonian Nightmare by paying 1.
12. When Chthonian Nightmare enters the battlefield, it triggers, causing you to get EEE.

This clever loop relies on Chthonian Nightmare to constantly recycle creatures between the battlefield and your graveyard, funding its own energy and mana costs along the way. By sacrificing Patron of the Arts to bring back Flamecache Gecko—and then using the Gecko's energy-free entry trigger alongside the Patron's death and entry triggers—you generate both Treasures and the exact mana needed to recast the enchantment. Every iteration feeds off the Treasure tokens and the mana produced by Flamecache Gecko, allowing you to endlessly repeat the cycle to flood the board with triggers.
