How it works

1. Declare Ninja of the Deep Hours as an attacker.
2. When it isn't blocked, activate up to seven lands you control by tapping them, adding at least 3.
3. Activate Great Whale's ninjutsu ability by paying 2 and returning Ninja of the Deep Hours from the battlefield to your hand, putting Great Whale onto the battlefield from your hand tapped and attacking.
4. When Great Whale enters the battlefield, it triggers, untapping up to seven lands.
5. Activate Ninja of the Deep Hours's ninjutsu ability by paying 1 and returning Great Whale from the battlefield to your hand, putting Ninja of the Deep Hours onto the battlefield from your hand tapped and attacking.
6. Repeat from step 2.
7. If you control up to seven lands that can tap to produce at least 4, this combo nets infinite mana.

This brilliant engine relies on Satoru Umezawa granting every creature card in your hand ninjutsu, turning your whole hand into an ambush zone. By continuously swapping Ninja of the Deep Hours and Great Whale back and forth through combat, you generate a self-sustaining loop where the whale's entry triggers untap your lands to more than pay for the next ninja activation. Satoru even rewards your first ninjutsu each turn by digging through your library for extra resources while the whale and ninja trade places indefinitely.
