How it works

1. Activate Necrotic Ooze using Barrenton Medic's second ability by putting a -1/-1 counter on it, untapping it.
2. Activate Necrotic Ooze using Channeler Initiate's ability by tapping it and removing a -1/-1 counter from it, adding one mana of any color.
3. Repeat.

This clever loop turns Necrotic Ooze into a self-sustaining mana engine by granting it the text box of every creature waiting in the graveyard. Barrenton Medic provides the vital untap ability—at the small cost of placing a -1/-1 counter on the Ooze—while Channeler Initiate steps in to convert that exact counter into colored mana by tapping and removing it. Because Channeler Initiate's counter removal clears the way for Barrenton Medic to place another one, the Ooze perpetually untaps and churns out infinite colored mana.
