How it works

1. Activate Necrotic Ooze using Omen Hawker's ability by tapping it, adding C that can only be spent to activate abilities.
2. Activate Necrotic Ooze using Farmstead Gleaner's ability by paying 2 and untapping it, putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
3. Repeat.

With Necrotic Ooze on the battlefield, it acts as a vessel for all activated abilities found in all graveyards, borrowing the engine's core mechanics without needing the original creatures to be in play. Omen Hawker provides the specialized mana required to fund these abilities, yielding two mana explicitly restricted to activation costs whenever it taps. By funneling that mana into the untap and growth ability inherited from Farmstead Gleaner, Necrotic Ooze pays its own way, repeatedly pumping a +1/+1 counter onto itself while simultaneously untapping to repeat the process. Because Farmstead Gleaner's ability uses the untap symbol, looping this sequence turns Omen Hawker's restricted mana into an infinitely scaling creature.
