How it works

1. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing Murderous Redcap, adding 1.
2. Murderous Redcap dies, triggering its persist ability, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
3. Murderous Redcap enters the battlefield, triggering itself and Remnant of the Rising Star.
4. Resolve the Murderous Redcap trigger, dealing damage equal to its power to any target.
5. Resolve the Remnant of the Rising Star trigger, causing you to pay 1 to put a +1/+1 counter on Murderous Redcap.
6. Repeat.
