How it works

1. Activate Thaumatog by sacrificing a land.
2. Repeat step 1 until you control no lands.
3. Activate Shilgengar by sacrificing World Shaper.
4. When World Shaper dies, it triggers, return all lands from your graveyard to the battlefield tapped.
5. When the lands enter, Emeria Shepherd triggers that many times.
6. Resolve an Emeria Shepherd trigger that was triggered by a Plains, returning World Shaper from your graveyard to the battlefield.
7. Resolve all remaining Emeria Shepherd triggers.
8. Resolve the Shilgengar ability.
9. Repeat

This intricate loop is masterminded by Shilgengar, Sire of Famine, whose ability to sacrifice creatures converts your board into a pile of Blood tokens—giving World Shaper a sacrificial exit strategy. As World Shaper perishes, its death trigger floods your graveyard back onto the battlefield as tapped lands, which immediately awakens Emeria Shepherd's landfall triggers to pull World Shaper and other nonland permanents straight back into play (especially with Plains bringing them directly to the battlefield). Meanwhile, Thaumatog acts as the initial catalyst, devouring your lands to clear the way so you can reset them with World Shaper's return. Once you have accumulated enough fodder, Shilgengar's massive reanimation ability can be powered by the Blood tokens you've generated along the way, looping the entire graveyard indefinitely.
