How it works

1. During your precombat main phase, cast Not Dead After All by paying , targeting Xiahou Dun.
2. Storm-Kiln Artist triggers, creating a Treasure toen.
3. Resolve Not Dead After All.
4. Activate Xiahou Dun by sacrificing it, targeting Not Dead After All.
5. When Xiahou Dun dies, it triggers, as well as any Wicked Roles that were attached to Xiahou Dun.
6. Resolve the Wicked Role trigger(s), if applicable, causing each opponent to lose that much life.
7. Resolve the Xiahou Dun trigger, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a Wicked Role token attached to it.
8. Resolve the Xiahou Dun ability from step 2, returning Not Dead After All from your graveyard to your hand.
9. Activate the Treasure by tapping and sacrificing it, adding .
10. Repeat.

This loop turns a simple black recursion spell into an endless engine of dark artifice by leveraging Xiahou Dun, the One-Eyed and Not Dead After All in a continuous cycle. Every iteration begins by casting Not Dead After All, which triggers Storm-Kiln Artist's magecraft ability to mint a fresh Treasure token for the cause. When you sacrifice Xiahou Dun to its own ability, it retrieves the recursion spell right back to your hand while its pending death state—secured by Not Dead After All—returns it straight to the battlefield alongside a Wicked Role token. Cashing in the Treasure generated by Storm-Kiln Artist provides the exact black mana needed to cast the spell again, draining your opponents' life totals through repeating role triggers and achieving infinite magecraft, storm, and death counts.
