How it works

1. Cast the artifact by paying 0.
2. Toph, Hardheaded Teacher triggers, earthbending Simic Growth Chamber.
3. Resolve the artifact spell.
4. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Simic Growth Chamber.
5. When Simic Growth Chamber dies, Toph, Hardheaded Teach triggers, returning Simic Growth Chamber from your graveyard to the battlefield tapped.
6. When Simic Growth Chamber enters, it triggers, returning the artifact cast in step 1 from the battlefield to your hand, as it's a land due to Toph, the First Metalbender.
7. Repeat.

This intricate loop turns cheap artifact recasting into a self-sustaining mana and trigger engine, anchored by Toph, the First Metalbender turning your artifacts into lands so they can be conveniently bounced. Ashnod's Altar provides the sacrifice outlet to generate colorless mana while feeding your death triggers, allowing you to feed the creature into the graveyard. Meanwhile, Toph, Hardheaded Teacher triggers off your spellcasting to continuously animate Simic Growth Chamber into a creature, which then uses its own entrance trigger to pick up your original artifact so you can cast it all over again.
