How it works

1. Activate Bloodflow Connoisseur by sacrificing Twilight Shepherd.
2. When Twilight Shepherd dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield without a -1/-1 counter on it due to Giada.
3. Resolve the Bloodflow Connoisseur ability.
4. Repeat.

This clever loop turns Twilight Shepherd into an endlessly recurring sacrifice engine, powered by the synergy between its persist ability and Giada, Font of Hope. Normally, persist would leave Twilight Shepherd with a -1/-1 counter, but Giada's presence ensures it enters with an additional +1/+1 counter that immediately neutralizes the -1/-1 counter through state-based actions. This allows Bloodflow Connoisseur to repeatedly devour Twilight Shepherd, growing larger with each iteration while generating infinite sacrifice, death, and enter-the-battlefield triggers.
