How it works

1. Activate Shilgengar by sacrificing Twilight Shepherd.
2. When Twilight Shepherd dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield without a -1/-1 counter on it due to Giada.
3. Resolve the Shilgengar ability.
4. Repeat.

This loop turns Shilgengar, Sire of Famine into an unstoppable sacrifice engine by using Twilight Shepherd as both fuel and recurring victim, while Giada, Font of Hope cleverly circumvents the persist mechanic's downside. Because Giada grants each entering Angel additional +1/+1 counters based on your existing Angels, Twilight Shepherd enters the battlefield large enough to immediately cancel out any -1/-1 counters it would have accumulated from persist. Every iteration yields a cascade of Blood tokens and triggers, allowing you to easily cycle the Shepherd back and forth to generate infinite value.
