How it works

1. At the beginning of your combat phase, Helm of the Host triggers, creating a nonlegendary token copy of Éomer with haste.
2. Declare Kari Zev as an attacker.
3. Kari Zev triggers, creating a legendary 2/1 Ragavan creature token that is tapped and attacking.
4. Holding priority, activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing Ragavan.
5. When Ragavan dies, each Éomer that hasn't triggered this turn triggers, untapping all creatures you control and causing you to get at least one additional combat phase after this one.
6. Resolve the Altar of Dementia ability, causing target player to mill cards equal to Ragavan's power.
7. Repeat each combat phase.

This brilliant loop turns an endless procession of legendary champions into a devastating mill engine by exploiting the synergy between combat replication and sacrifice. It all begins when Helm of the Host equips your board to supply nonlegendary copies of Éomer, Marshal of Rohan, whose massive untap and extra combat triggers are fueled whenever an attacking legendary creature bites the dust. Kari Zev, Skyship Raider plays her part by charging into battle alongside her trusty monkey companion Ragavan, who conveniently arrives already tapped and attacking. You then feed Ragavan directly to Altar of Dementia, turning its sacrificial death into a mill trigger that simultaneously drops the curtain on the current combat phase while standing up your entire army anew through Éomer's blessing for the next assault.
