How it works

1. Cast Mourning by paying 2 life if able, or otherwise.
2. Each creature you control's extort ability triggers.
3. Resolve the first extort trigger, causing you to pay 2 life if able, or W/B otherwise, causing each opponent to lose 1 life and you to gain that much life.
4. Repeat step 3 for each remaining extort trigger.
5. Resolve Mourning, attaching it to a creature you control.
6. Activate Mourning by paying 2 life, returning it from the battlefield to your hand.
7. Repeat until an opponent loses the game due to having 0 or less life.

This clever loop leverages K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth to turn life into the ultimate currency, completely bypassing traditional mana constraints by letting you pay life for both black spell costs and extort triggers. With Pontiff of Blight granting extort to your entire board, every time you cast Mourning, you generate a massive stack of life-drain triggers to drain your opponents and comfortably offset the cost. Starnheim Courser helps by shaving generic mana off your enchantment spells to grease the wheels, while Mourning's built-in ability allows you to bounce it right back to your hand for reuse, letting you recast it endlessly until your foes are drained to zero.
