How it works

  1. Cast Mourning by paying 2 life if able, or B mana otherwise.
  2. Each creature you control's extort ability triggers, as well as Lyse's prowess ability.
  3. Resolve the Lyse trigger, giving it +1/+1 until end of turn.
  4. Resolve the first extort trigger, causing you to pay 2 life if able, or W/B otherwise, causing each opponent to lose 1 life and you to gain that much life.
  5. Repeat step 4 for each remaining extort trigger.
  6. Resolve Mourning, attaching it to a creature you control.
  7. Activate Mourning by paying 2 life, returning it from the battlefield to your hand.
  8. Repeat until an opponent loses the game due to having 0 or less life.
