How it works

1. Cast Lava Zombie by paying 0.
2. Lava Zombie enters the battlefield, returning itself to your hand.
3. Repeat.

This loop is a masterclass in self-referential recycling, turning a supposed drawback into a closed-loop engine. Thanks to Rooftop Storm removing the mana restriction for casting Zombie creature spells, you can deploy Lava Zombie for zero mana over and over again. The moment Lava Zombie enters the battlefield, its own triggered ability forces you to return a black or red creature to your hand—and since it is both a Zombie and matches those color requirements, it targets itself. This immediately bounces it back to your hand, ready to be cast again to generate infinite entry and leave-the-battlefield triggers alongside an endlessly climbing storm count.
