How it works

1. Activate Orthion's second ability by paying 6 and tapping it, creating five token copies of Catalyst Elemental with haste.
2. Activate the five Catalyst Elemental tokens by sacrificing them, adding ten .
3. When the Catalyst Elemental tokens die, Orthion triggers, untapping itself.
4. Repeat.
5. Once you have infinite mana, you may forego sacrificing the Catalyst Elemental tokens and/or target any other creature.

This explosive loop turns Orthion, Hero of Lavabrink into a one-man army generator by leveraging the unique properties of its massive token-creation ability. When equipped with Thornbite Staff, Orthion gains a crucial passive safety net: every time a creature dies, the Staff automatically untaps its bearer. You feed this engine by using Orthion's heavy mana activation to flood the board with five hasty copies of Catalyst Elemental. Sacrificing those elementals generates a massive influx of red mana while simultaneously triggering the Thornbite Staff's untap ability over and over again, leaving Orthion ready to repeat the entire cycle and bury your opponents in endless tokens.
