How it works
- Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing another creature, adding 1.
- Smothering Abomination's second ability triggers, causing you to draw a card.
- Nadir Kraken triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on it and creating a 1/1 Tentacle creature token.
- Repeat.
This elegant loop transforms the simple act of sacrifice into a self-sustaining engine of growth and knowledge. By feeding a creature into Phyrexian Altar, you generate the mana needed to fuel Nadir Kraken's triggered ability whenever Smothering Abomination forces you to draw a card upon that creature's death. The Tentacle token left behind by the Kraken then steps up as the next sacrifice for the Altar, keeping the cycle spinning to continuously churn out card draw and +1/+1 counters.
