How it works

1. Cast Ephemerate by paying , blinking Fiend Hunter.
2. Fiend Hunter enters the battlefield, triggering itself and Preston.
3. Resolve the Fiend Hunter trigger, choosing not to exile a creature.
4. Resolve the Preston trigger, creating a token copy of Fiend Hunter that is a 0/1 white Illusion.
5. The Fiend Hunter token enters the battlefield, exiling the nontoken Fiend Hunter.
6. Activate Phyrexian Altar sacrificing the Fiend Hunter token, adding one mana of any color.
7. The token dies, returning the nontoken Fiend Hunter from exile to the battlefield.
8. Repeat from step 2.
