How it works

  1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing The Master of Lake-town.
  2. When The Master of Lake-town dies, it and Nim Deathmantle trigger.
  3. Resolve the Master of Lake-town trigger, drawing a card for each graveyard that has seven or more cards in it.
  4. Holding priority, activate Skirge Familiar by discarding a card, adding B mana.
  5. Repeat step one additional time.
  6. Resolve the Nim Deathmantle trigger, causing you to pay 4 to return The Master of Lake-town from your graveyard to the battlefield and attaching Nim Deathmantle to it.
  7. Repeat.

This loop turns Ashnod's Altar into a recycling engine by sacrificing The Master of Lake-town for colorless mana while Skirge Familiar filters your hand into black mana by discarding cards. That exact mana fuels the triggered ability of Nim Deathmantle to continuously fish The Master of Lake-town right back out of the graveyard onto the battlefield, creating a self-sustaining loop. Along the way, The Master of Lake-town's own lifeloss-triggered milling ability swells opposing graveyards to seven-card thresholds, turning its eventual death trigger into a massive card-drawing bonanza.
