How it works

1. At the beginning of your upkeep, Oloro's first ability triggers, causing you to gain 2 life.
2. Oloro's second ability triggers, causing you to pay 1 to draw a card and cause each opponent to lose 1 life.
3. Horizon Chimera triggers. Holding priority, activate Skirge Familiar by discarding a card, adding .
4. Resolve the Horizon Chimera trigger, causing you to gain 1 life.
5. Repeat from step 2.

This clever loop begins during your upkeep when Oloro, Ageless Ascetic reliably triggers its life-gain ability, whether it sits safely in the command zone or on the battlefield. That life-gain acts as the engine's fuel, allowing you to pay the mandatory mana to draw a card using Oloro, Ageless Ascetic's second ability. Every time you draw that card, Horizon Chimera steps in to patch up your life total by granting you 1 life, which in turn feeds right back into Oloro, Ageless Ascetic's payment requirement. Meanwhile, Skirge Familiar converts your newly drawn cards into black mana on demand by simply discarding them to keep the sequence rolling infinitely.
