How it works

1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Accomplished Automaton.
2. When Accomplished Automaton dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
3. When Accomplished Automaton enters, its fabricate ability triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
4. Repeat.

This brilliant loop relies on Isilu, Carrier of Twilight—the transformed face of Eirdu, Carrier of Dawn—to grant persist to your other nontoken creatures, setting up a clever counter-neutralization cycle. When you sacrifice Accomplished Automaton to Ashnod's Altar for a burst of colorless mana, its persist ability returns it to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter, but its fabricate 1 trigger immediately applies a +1/+1 counter that cancels it out via state-based actions. Because the resulting creature enters without any -1/-1 counters remaining, the loop can be repeated indefinitely to generate infinite colorless mana alongside endless sacrifice and death triggers.
