How it works

1. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing Accomplished Automaton.
2. When Accomplished Automaton dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
3. When Accomplished Automaton enters, its fabricate ability triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
4. Repeat.

Once Isilu grants persist to your nontoken creatures, sacrificing Accomplished Automaton to Phyrexian Altar sends it to the graveyard only for it to immediately return with a -1/-1 counter.
