How it works

1. Activate Shilgengar by sacrificing Accomplished Automaton.
2. When Accomplished Automaton dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
3. When Accomplished Automaton enters, its fabricate ability triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
4. Resolve the Shilgengar ability.
5. Repeat.

This clever engine uses Shilgengar, Sire of Famine as a sacrifice outlet to feed on Accomplished Automaton, which is protected and endlessly recycled by the persist granted by Isilu, Carrier of Twilight (the back face of Eirdu, Carrier of Dawn). Every time the Automaton goes to the graveyard and returns with a -1/-1 counter, its fabricate ability triggers to place a +1/+1 counter on it; state-based actions immediately cause these opposing counters to annihilate each other, leaving the Automaton completely clean and ready to be sacrificed all over again. As this mechanical loop churns, Shilgengar happily converts each sacrifice into a Blood token while generating infinite entry, exit, and death triggers to overwhelm your opponents.
