How it works

1. Activate Umbral Collar Zealot by sacrificing Accomplished Automaton.
2. When Accomplished Automaton dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
3. When Accomplished Automaton enters, its fabricate ability triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
4. Resolve the Umbral Collar Zealot ability.
5. Repeat.

This clever loop hinges on the dual-faced nature of Eirdu, Carrier of Dawn // Isilu, Carrier of Twilight, whose backside grants persist to your other nontoken creatures. When you use Umbral Collar Zealot to sacrifice Accomplished Automaton, the automaton's persist ability returns it to the battlefield bearing a -1/-1 counter. Fortunately, Accomplished Automaton's fabricate ability triggers upon re-entry, placing a +1/+1 counter that immediately neutralizes the -1/-1 counter via state-based actions. This leaves the automaton pristine and ready to be sacrificed all over again, generating an endless cascade of leaves-the-battlefield, entry, sacrifice, and death triggers while feeding Umbral Collar Zealot's surveil ability.
