How it works

1. Activate Bartolomé del Presidio by sacrificing Ugin's Nexus, putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
2. When Ugin's Nexus is sacrificed, it is exiled instead of being put into your graveyard, causing you to take an extra turn after this one.
3. Move to your next turn.
4. Activate Isochron Scepter by paying 2 and tapping it, casting a copy of Pull from Eternity without paying its mana cost.
5. Resolve Pull from Eternity, putting Ugin's Nexus from exile into your graveyard.
6. Deal combat damage to an opponent using an Assassin, triggering Layla Hassan, returning Ugin's Nexus from your graveyard to your hand.
7. Cast Ugin's Nexus by paying 5.
8. Repeat.

This intricate loop twists time to your absolute advantage by weaponizing Ugin's Nexus's replacement effect: when Bartolomé del Presidio sacrifices the artifact, it neatly dodges the graveyard to grant you an extra turn while priming itself for retrieval. Once your subsequent turn begins, Isochron Scepter repeatedly fires off Pull from Eternity to pluck the Nexus right out of exile and send it safely back to the graveyard. From there, you connect in combat with an Assassin to trigger Layla Hassan's ability, pulling the Nexus from the graveyard straight to your hand so you can recast it and begin the cycle anew.
