How it works

  1. Activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing Famished Foragers.
  2. When Famished Foragers dies, Nim Deathmantle triggers, causing you to pay 4 to return Famished Foragers from your graveyard to the battlefield, and attach Nim Deathmantle to it.
  3. When Famished Foragers enters the battlefield, it triggers twice, adding six R mana.
  4. Resolve the Altar of Dementia ability from step 1, causing target player to mill cards equal to Famished Foragers' power.
  5. Repeat.
  6. Once you have infinite mana, you may use Famished Foragers' ability to infinitely rummage.

This intricate loop turns the graveyard into a revolving door by leveraging Altar of Dementia to continually sacrifice Famished Foragers, which triggers Nim Deathmantle to resurrect it with the mana left behind. The true engine that makes this go infinite is Elesh Norn, Mother of Machines, whose static ability doubles the entry triggers of Famished Foragers so that it yields six red mana every cycle—more than enough to pay the four-mana resurrection cost while netting a profit. As the loop spins, Altar of Dementia mills out your opponents piece by piece, and you can even filter through your entire deck using the rummaging ability of Famished Foragers once your red mana supply is infinite.
