How it works

1. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing Forsaken Miner, adding .
2. When Forsaken Miner dies, Harvester of Souls triggers, causing you to draw a card.
3. Lyla triggers, targeting a creature an opponent controls.
4. Forsaken Miner triggers, causing you to pay to return Forsaken Miner from your graveyard to the battlefield.
5. Resolve the Lyla trigger.
6. Repeat.

This elegant loop turns the humble Forsaken Miner into an endless engine of profit by feeding it directly to Phyrexian Altar for black mana. Each time the Miner goes to the graveyard, Harvester of Souls happily cashes in that death for a card, which in turn causes Lyla, Holographic Assistant to drop a +1/+1 counter onto an opponent's creature—a deliciously spiteful act that counts as committing a crime. That criminal act lets you pay the mana you just generated to loop Forsaken Miner right back onto the battlefield, ready to be sacrificed all over again.
