How it works
Cast Dark Ritual by paying , adding .
Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing Ardent Elementalist, adding one mana of any color.
When Ardent Elementalist dies, The Cauldron of Eternity triggers, putting Ardent Elementalist from your graveyard onto the bottom of your library.
Activate Grenzo by paying 2, putting Ardent Elementalist from the bottom of your library into your graveyard, and then putting it onto the battlefield.
When Ardent Elementalist enters the battlefield, it triggers, returning Dark Ritual from your graveyard to your hand.
Repeat.
Once you have infinite mana, you may activate Grenzo's ability any number of times.
This loop relies on an ingenious recycling pipeline that lets you repeatedly cast and sacrifice Ardent Elementalist to generate infinite mana and effects. The key to the engine is The Cauldron of Eternity, whose static ability ensures that whenever Ardent Elementalist dies, it neatly returns straight to the bottom of your library rather than lingering in the graveyard. From there, Grenzo, Dungeon Warden uses its activated ability to pluck Ardent Elementalist right back off the bottom of the library and drop it onto the battlefield, provided Grenzo's power can accommodate it. Once Ardent Elementalist enters the battlefield, its triggered ability scoops up Dark Ritual from your graveyard so you can recast it for a fresh burst of black mana, while Phyrexian Altar stands ready to sacrifice the Elementalist and fund Grenzo's activation costs with any color.
