How it works

1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Eternal Scourge, adding CC.
2. When Eternal Scourge dies, Pitiless Plunderer and Mimic Vat trigger.
3. Resolve the Pitiless Plunderer trigger, creating a Treasure artifact token.
4. Resolve the Mimic Vat trigger, exiling Eternal Scourge from your graveyard.
5. Activate the Treasure by tapping and sacrificing it, adding 1.
6. Cast Eternal Scourge from exile by paying 3.
7. Repeat.

This clever loop turns Ashnod's Altar into a self-sustaining mana engine by leveraging Eternal Scourge's unique ability to be cast directly from exile. Whenever you sacrifice Eternal Scourge to the Altar, Pitiless Plunderer creates a Treasure token and Mimic Vat lets you neatly stash the Scourge in exile—all while generating enough colorless and colored mana between the Altar's sacrifice payout and the Treasure's activation to pay the exact three-mana cost needed to cast Eternal Scourge right back out again.
