How it works

  1. Cast Walk the Aeons by paying its mana cost, causing you to take an extra turn after this one.
  2. Cast Returned Pastcaller by paying its mana cost.
  3. When Returned Pastcaller enters the battlefield, it triggers, returning Walk the Aeons from your graveyard to your hand.
  4. Move to your next turn.
  5. Activate Dour Port-Mage by paying 1U mana and tapping it, returning Returned Pastcaller from the battlefield to your hand.
  6. Dour Port-Mage triggers, causing you to draw a card.
  7. Repeat.

This clever loop gives you infinite turns by endlessly recycling Walk the Aeons, which lets you take extra turns upon resolution. To fuel this engine, Returned Pastcaller plays a crucial role by entering the battlefield to return Walk the Aeons from your graveyard straight back to your hand. Meanwhile, Dour Port-Mage acts as both the engine's bounce outlet—using its activated ability to return Returned Pastcaller to your hand—and a card-drawing engine, triggering to draw you a card whenever a creature leaves the battlefield without dying.
