How it works

  1. Cast High Tide by paying U mana.
  2. Cast Cackling Counterpart by paying its mana cost, creating a token copy of Kairi.
  3. Put the Kairi token into your graveyard due to the legend rule.
  4. When the Kairi token dies, it triggers, causing you to mill six cards and return High Tide and Cackling Counterpart from your graveyard to your hand.
  5. Cast High Tide by paying U mana.
  6. Activate at least three Islands by tapping them, adding U manaU manaU mana.
  7. High Tide triggers twice for each Island tapped this way, adding that much U mana.
  8. Cast Turnabout by paying 2U manaU mana, untapping all lands you control.
  9. Cast Cackling Counterpart by paying its mana cost, creating a token copy of Kairi.
  10. Put the Kairi token into your graveyard due to the legend rule.
  11. When the Kairi token dies, it triggers, causing you to mill six cards and return Turnabout and Cackling Counterpart from your graveyard to your hand.
  12. Repeat from step 6.

This loop transforms the legendary dragon Kairi, the Swirling Sky into an engine of recursive eternity by exploiting the legend rule. Whenever you sacrifice a token copy to keep the original Kairi, the dying copy triggers its ability to mill six cards and rescue your spent spells from the graveyard. High Tide supercharges your Islands to generate massive mana reserves, which Turnabout then channels to untap your lands for the next iteration. Finally, Cackling Counterpart clones Kairi over and over—and with its flashback cost available, you can even recover it from the graveyard if needed—allowing you to generate infinite mana, storm count, and self-mill.
