Double Major

How it works

1. Cast Omarthis by paying 2.
2. Holding priority, cast Double Major by paying , copying the Omarthis spell, with the copy being nonlegendary.
3. Resolve the copy of the Omarthis spell, causing it to enter the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it.
4. Resolve the original Omarthis spell, causing it to enter the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it.
5. The token Omarthis' first ability triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
6. The nontoken Omarthis' first ability triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
7. Repeat from step 5.

This clever loop takes advantage of the unique way creature spells resolve alongside their clones. By casting Omarthis, Ghostfire Initiate and backing it up with Double Major, you create a nonlegendary token copy of the legendary creature so that both versions can safely coexist on the battlefield with their initial +1/+1 counters. Once both are in play, each creature's triggered ability continuously sees the other receive a counter, creating a mutually-triggered loop that pumps both Omarthis and its token copy to infinite sizes.
