How it works

1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Golgari Thug.
2. When Golgari Thug dies, it triggers, putting it from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
3. Cast Golgari Thug from the top of your library by paying 2 life.
4. When Golgari Thug enters, Healer of the Pride triggers, causing you to gain 2 life.
5. Repeat.

This clever loop relies on Bolas's Citadel to let you cast creatures straight from the top of your library by paying life instead of mana, transforming what would normally be resource costs into a manageable drain. You sacrifice Golgari Thug to Ashnod's Altar to generate colorless mana, which offsets the life spent on the Citadel while sending the Thug to the graveyard to trigger its own ability and place itself right back on top of your library. Meanwhile, Healer of the Pride quietly undoes the life payment every single time the creature re-enters the battlefield, letting you continuously recast and sacrifice the Thug to fuel an unstoppable engine of endless mana, life, and triggers.
