How it works

1. Activate Phantom Train by sacrificing Golgari Thug.
2. When Golgari Thug dies, it triggers, putting it from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
3. Resolve the Phantom Train ability.
4. Cast Golgari Thug from the top of your library by paying 2 life.
5. When Golgari Thug enters, Healer of the Pride triggers, causing you to gain 2 life.
6. Repeat.

This clever loop turns the graveyard and library into a continuous cycle of life and growth, fueled entirely by life-payment rather than mana. When you activate Phantom Train, you sacrifice Golgari Thug to put a +1/+1 counter on the train and turn it into a creature. This death triggers Golgari Thug's own ability, placing it right back on top of your library. From there, Gwenom, Remorseless lets you cast that very same Golgari Thug straight off the library, using its alternate casting condition to pay life instead of mana. Each time the Thug re-enters the battlefield, Healer of the Pride triggers to grant you 2 life, completely offsetting the life you paid to cast it while building an arbitrarily large Phantom Train.
