How it works

1. Activate Myr Scrapling by sacrificing it.
2. When Myr Scrapling dies, Mortuary and Vindictive Vampire trigger.
3. Resolve the Mortuary trigger, putting Myr Scrapling from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
4. Resolve the Vindictive Vampire trigger, causing you to gain 1 life and dealing 1 damage to each opponent.
5. Resolve the Myr Scrapling ability.
6. Cast Myr Scrapling from the top of your library by paying 1 life.
7. Repeat.

This delightfully morbid loop transforms your topdeck into an infinite engine of doom by turning life into a resource and recycling your fallen constructs. Thanks to Bolas's Citadel, you can continually recast Myr Scrapling directly from the top of your library for a mere 1 life instead of its mana cost. Each time you sacrifice the Myr Scrapling to its own ability, Mortuary immediately intercepts it on the way to the graveyard, placing the tiny automaton right back onto the top of your library for the Citadel to grab again. Meanwhile, Vindictive Vampire watches the carnage unfold, converting each iteration into a draining wave of damage and lifegain that effortlessly offsets the life you pay to keep the cycle spinning.
