How it works

1. Activate Bartolomé del Presidio by sacrificing Stormbound Geist
2. When Stormbound Geist dies, its undying ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it.
3. Activate Bartolomé del Presidio by sacrificing Stormbound Geist
4. When Stormbound Geist dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
5. Resolve both Bartolomé del Presidio abilities from step 1 and 3.
6. Repeat.

This clever loop revolves around turning counters into an engine of perpetual motion, anchored by Bartolomé del Presidio as the sacrificial outlet that continually devours Stormbound Geist. While the Geist naturally returns with a +1/+1 counter via undying, the presence of Isilu, Carrier of Twilight (the back face of Eirdu, Carrier of Dawn) grants it persist, allowing it to bounce back instead with a -1/+1 counter. Because +1/+1 and -1/-1 counters actively annihilate each other upon placement, the Geist resets its counter status entirely with each cycle. This allows Stormbound Geist to endlessly alternate between undying and persist triggers, fueling infinite sacrifice and death triggers to grow Bartolomé del Presidio to astronomical proportions.
