Fateful Handoff

How it works

1. Cast Fateful Handoff by paying 3, causing you to draw eight cards and give control of Vilis to an opponent.
2. During that opponent's draw step, they draw a card.
3. Nekusar triggers, dealing 1 damage to the opponent.
4. Vilis triggers, causing the opponent to draw a card.
5. Repeat from step 3 until the opponent loses the game either due to drawing from an empty library, or from having 0 life.

This clever loop relies on trading away your own powerhouse to turn your opponent's mandatory draw steps into a self-destructive engine. By casting Fateful Handoff, you draw eight cards and hand over Vilis, Broker of Blood to your opponent—whose passive life-loss-to-card-drawing ability is now under their control. From there, Nekusar, the Mindrazer triggers at the beginning of their draw step to deal 1 damage, which Vilis translates into drawing a card, which loops right back into Nekusar dealing another point of damage. This endless cascade forces your opponent to keep drawing and losing life until they perish from empty-library decking or 0 life.
