How it works

1. Cast Fateful Handoff by paying 2, causing you to draw four cards and give control of Notion Thief to an opponent.
2. During that opponent's draw step, they draw a card.
3. Consecrated Sphinx triggers, causing the opponent to draw two cards due to Notion Thief.
4. Consecrated Sphinx triggers twice.
5. Resolve the first trigger, causing the opponent to draw two cards due to Notion Thief.
6. Repeat from step 4 until the opponent loses the game due to drawing from an empty library.

This devious setup turns an opponent's natural card draw into their ultimate undoing by weaponizing the replacement effect of Notion Thief against them. First, you cast Fateful Handoff to hand Notion Thief over to an opponent while cashing in on its high mana value to refill your own hand.
