How it works

1. Cast Apex of Power by paying , exiling the top seven cards of your library with the ability to cast them until end of turn, and adding either ten or ten .
2. Cast Mystic Retrieval by paying , returning Apex of Power from your graveyard to your hand.
3. Cast Mystic Retrieval from your graveyard for its flashback cost by paying , returning Runic Repetition from your graveyard to your hand and exiling Mystic Retrieval.
4. Cast Runic Repetition by paying , returning Mystic Retrieval from exile to your hand.
5. Repeat.

This dizzying storm loop relies entirely on Vadrik, Astral Archmage's passive cost reduction to turn expensive spells into free or net-positive mana generators. Once Vadrik's power is high enough, casting Apex of Power yields a massive surplus of ten mana while seeding your exile zone with options. From there, Mystic Retrieval and Runic Repetition form a recursive engine that bounces each other and the Apex back to your hand, fueled by the staggering discount provided by your commander.
