How it works

  1. Cast Time Warp by paying 3U manaU mana, causing you to take an extra turn after this one.
  2. Cast Mystic Retrieval by paying 3U mana, returning Runic Repetition to your hand from your graveyard.
  3. Cast Mystic Retrieval from your graveyard for its flashback cost by paying 2R mana, returning Time Warp from your graveyard to your hand and exiling Mystic Retrieval.
  4. Cast Runic Repetition by paying 2U mana, returning Mystic Retrieval from exile to your hand.
  5. Repeat each turn.

This timeless loop begins when you cast Time Warp to claim an extra turn, sending the sorcery straight to your graveyard. From there, Mystic Retrieval lets you fish Runic Repetition out of the graveyard, and then you can cast Mystic Retrieval again using its flashback cost to reclaim Time Warp—at the cost of exiling Mystic Retrieval itself. That is where Runic Repetition works its magic, reaching into the exile zone to retrieve your exiled Mystic Retrieval so you can start the cycle anew. By endlessly recycling these spells, you secure an infinite sequence of extra turns to bury your opponents under a mountain of uninterrupted time.
