How it works

1. Activate Urza's first ability by tapping Pili-Pala, adding .
2. Activate Pili-Pala by paying 1 and untapping it, adding one mana of any color.
3. Repeat.
4. Once you have infinite mana, you may use it to activate Urza's ability.

This clever combination relies on Pili-Pala's ability to untap itself for mana, which normally costs two mana and leaves you net-zero. However, Heartstone steps in to reduce that activation cost to just a single mana, creating a profitable loop when paired with Urza, Lord High Artificer. Because Urza turns every untapped artifact you control—including Pili-Pala itself—into a blue mana source, tapping Pili-Pala for {U} and then paying that same {1} to untap it generates infinite colored mana. With this boundless energy secured, you can pour it straight into Urza's five-mana activated ability to exile and cast your entire library without paying its mana costs.
