How it works

1. Play Glacial Chasm either from your hand or from your graveyard.
2. When Glacial Chasm enters the battlefield, its second ability triggers, causing you to sacrifice another land you control.
3. Play any land from your graveyard.
4. At the beginning of your next upkeep, Glacial Chasm's cumulative upkeep ability triggers, allowing you to choose not to pay the cost and sacrifice it instead.
5. Repeat.

This ingenious setup keeps you entirely safe behind Glacial Chasm's damage prevention while completely dodging its crippling upkeep costs and land sacrifice penalties. By utilizing Perennial Behemoth, you can simply replay the Chasm from your graveyard turn after turn, letting you sacrifice the land it demands—or the one you must sacrifice to Thalia and The Gitrog Monster—right back into the graveyard to feed the loop. Thalia and The Gitrog Monster even lets you push forward your extra land drops, ensuring this impenetrable defensive lock can be sustained indefinitely without ever bleeding your life total dry.
