How it works

  1. Cast Sandbar Merfolk either from your hand or from your graveyard by paying U mana, causing it to enter the battlefield as a copy of Crosis's Attendant due to Infinite Reflection.
  2. Activate Sandbar Merfolk by paying 1 and sacrificing it, adding U manaB manaR mana.
  3. If you cast Sandbar Merfolk from your graveyard, Sandbar Merfolk is not exiled by Abandoned Sarcophagus due to Infinite Reflection removing Sandbar Merfolk's cycling ability.
  4. Repeat.

This fascinating loop relies on Infinite Reflection to permanently rewrite the identity of Sandbar Merfolk, ensuring that every copy you control enters the battlefield as a copy of Crosis's Attendant rather than its original self. Because Infinite Reflection strips away the original creature type and text box—including its cycling ability—Abandoned Sarcophagus is neatly bypassed when Sandbar Merfolk hits the graveyard, allowing you to repeatedly recast it from the graveyard for just {U}. You can then sacrifice this morphing copy to its own acquired ability, courtesy of Crosis's Attendant, to continuously net more mana than you spend and generate infinite storm count, death triggers, and colored mana.
